deeply passionate about championing women in the film industry and dedicated to creating inspirational films of all genres, with a special interest in bringing powerful true stories to life.

Meet Our Founder

Ruth Benfield

Founder & CEO

Ruth Benfield is an accomplished New Zealand-born, Los Angeles-based producer, composer, and music supervisor with over 25 years of experience in the creative arts. Raised in New Zealand within a deeply musical family, Ruth attended the Australasian College of the Arts, majoring in composition and production. Her career beautifully bridges the worlds of music and film, allowing her to serve as a multi-hyphenate creative force on independent projects.

Through her vision at Glass of Milk Pictures, Ruth champions female-forward, inspiring independent cinema, with a sharp focus on character-driven narratives. In addition to her work with Glass of Milk, she is the founder of the sister record label Glass of Milk Records and serves as a co-founder and executive at LAMA Entertainment.

Current Projects In Development

  • How to Find the One – A narrative film project focusing on the incredible true story of the industry's first co-ed baseball agent duo.

  • South Shore Boys – Framed and desperate, Max must outdrive ruthless rivals and a dangerous dealer to save his team of young mechanics from jail. To protect the South Shore Boys Auto family, he'll risk everything in a high-stakes race where losing isn't an option.

Musical Collaborations

On the music side, Ruth continues to write, produce, and release independent music through Glass of Milk Records. Her recent work includes the February 2026 single release "The Day The Earth Shook," a deeply personal collaborative vocal duet featuring singer-songwriter Helen Pallis-Mulholland.
